This year is a whirlwind of events for LyZadie Design Studio, but it’s too easy to move through them without stopping, reflecting and celebrating the successes and learnings each opportunity provides. To that end, it’s wonderful to consider that this year marked our very first time taking part in Auckland Design Week. Stepping into this space, we felt a strong sense of belonging to Aotearoa’s vibrant design community.
The flow of people varied over the days, and between the various excellent presentations, we truly cherished the conversations we had – especially with those who have followed our journey online and came to meet us in person. It was humbling and heart-warming to hear that our designs resonate so deeply with many interior experts and fabricators out there. Hearing that people are hungry for the type of work we create, and that they really resonate with the connection to land and people in our pieces is deeply gratifying.
We met some incredibly inspiring creatives and formed beautiful new friendships with our fellow exhibitors. Sharing space and stories with them made the experience richer and more memorable.
A highlight was our speaking event – we loved the interview-style format, and the feedback from the audience was wonderful. Though it was the very last slot of the week, we’re grateful for everyone who stayed to listen and connect. Promise that we will lobby for an earlier slot next time as we know some of you missed out.
Interior designers searching for authentic, locally made designs were thrilled to discover our work and it was a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do. The connections these exhibitions provide spark conversations, ideas and collaborations that move all our work forward.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, listened, shared, and supported us during ADW 2025. We’re proud to have taken this step and look forward to growing alongside this creative community.
Ngā mihi nui,
Lyzadie and the studio team
